Paint furniture
1. Clean

Remove loose paint and soak a sponge with paint cleaner. Wash the surface, then wipe off the cleaning agent with a cloth dampened with water.

2. Sand and prime

Sand uneven areas and damage with sandpaper and apply primer to bare wood surfaces.

3. Fill and prime

Repair holes and damage with wood filler. Allow the filler to dry, then sand with sandpaper. Prime the entire surface with primer.

4. Sand between coats

Lightly sand the furniture with fine sandpaper and then wipe off dust with a damp cloth.

5. Finish coat

Finally, apply 2 coats of enamel paint.

Tip! Enamel paint dries quickly and you cannot go back and rework the surface. Apply generously with firm strokes and keep the surface free from dust during painting.

Paint windows, doors, trims and joinery
1. Clean

Brush off dust and loose particles. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. If the surface has been previously painted, remove loose paint and clean with paint cleaner. Soak a sponge or cloth with the cleaner, wipe the surface to be painted, then remove the cleaner with a cloth dampened with water.

2. Repair and sand

Repair holes and damage and smooth out uneven areas with wood filler. Allow the filler to dry, then sand with sandpaper. Remove all dust.

3. Prime

Apply primer.

4. Finish coat

Apply 2 coats of enamel paint.

Tip! Seal joints and cracks that may move with paintable latex sealant, unlike silicone sealants. Use masking tape where you want clean edges, for example where window frames meet the glass.

Paint plaster and concrete
1. Clean

Scrape off loose paint with a wide steel scraper that can reach behind loose plaster. Work from all directions and open up cracks and loose areas. Then clean with Roof and Facade Cleaner and rinse with water. Once dry, brush thoroughly with a coarse brush to remove remaining loose particles. On unpainted surfaces, brushing off dust and loose particles is sufficient.

2. Repair

Repair holes and cracks with repair mortar or cement-based filler.

3. Prime

Porous and “sandy” surfaces should be primed with plaster primer before finishing.

4. Finish coat

Apply 2 coats of masonry paint.

Stain wooden facades, fences and outdoor furniture
1. Clean and prime

Previously stained surfaces should be cleaned with Roof and Facade Cleaner. Rinse with water and allow to dry. Untreated surfaces should be primed with wood oil. Pay special attention to end grain.

2. Final coat

Apply one coat of exterior wood stain after the boards or slats are installed.

Paint facades, bargeboards and fences
1. Clean

Start by hammering in any protruding nails. Remove old and loose paint with a scraper or steel brush and clean with Roof and Facade Cleaner. Follow instructions on the packaging. Finish by thoroughly rinsing off all cleaner with water.

2. Prime

Once dry, treat all bare wood with wood oil. Pay special attention to end grain – dip the ends into the oil container. Then prime with wood primer.

3. Final coat

Apply 2 coats of exterior paint or oil-based paint.

  • If the surface was previously painted with acrylic paint, use exterior acrylic paint.
  • For fences, oil-based paint is recommended.

How to identify previous paint type: Rub the surface with denatured alcohol. If the paint dissolves, it is acrylic paint.

Paint windows
1. Clean

Scrape off loose paint and damaged putty. It is important that the putty is intact to prevent moisture intrusion. Clean with Roof and Facade Cleaner. Follow instructions and rinse thoroughly.

2. Sand evenly

Sand uneven areas. Dull existing paint and round off edges to ease putty application. Clean glass with denatured alcohol where putty will adhere.

3. Prime with oil

Treat putty rebates and bare wood with wood oil. Ensure all end grain is saturated.

4. Apply putty

Prime bare wood with wood primer. Apply window putty once the paint has dried. Use a putty knife and smooth with a damp knife. Angle the knife to remove excess from the glass.

5. Final coat

Apply 2 coats of window paint. Extend paint 1–2 mm onto the glass.

Paint walls and paneling

Surfaces painted with lime or glue-based paint must be completely washed off before painting.

Unpainted surfaces
  1. Fill and sand the surface.
  2. Apply 2 coats of wall paint.
Previously painted surfaces or wallpaper
  1. Clean first with paint cleaner and then with a clean cloth.
  2. Fill and sand the surface.
  3. Apply 2 coats of wall paint.
Paneling
  1. Treat all knots with knot sealant.
  2. Apply one coat of ceiling and panel paint.
  3. Finish with wall paint.
Paint ceilings
1. Clean

Remove loose paint and particles. Wash with paint cleaner and wipe with a damp cloth. Lime or glue-based paint must be fully removed.

2. Fill and sand

Fill uneven areas with filler. Reinforce plasterboard joints with fiberglass tape if needed. Fill joints and nail holes twice. Sand smooth. Seal cracks with latex sealant.

3. Paint

Apply 2 coats of ceiling paint 03 with a roller. Start near a window and roll parallel into the room.

Paint wooden and concrete floors
1. Check

Unpainted floors must be completely dry. Tape plastic foil to the floor — if condensation appears after one day, it is not dry.

2. Clean and repair

Clean thoroughly. Repair concrete with cement-based filler. Sand and vacuum.

3. Paint

Cut in along walls first, then paint entire floor twice. Apply generously. Do not paint below +5°C and avoid dust. Do not load the surface during the first week.
