Aquabarr MIR

Single-component, water-based thick film paint with built-in rust protection.

Roof/facade paint for metal surfaces where there are occasional minor rust attacks.
(Not suitable for metal of PVF2 type)

The paint is applied in at least two spray passes of approximately 300 µm wet = 0.30 l/m² each, this is to achieve faster drying. The drying time is about 4 hours at +20°C and 50% relative humidity. The product can also be rolled or brushed on, in which case three treatments are required to achieve the correct film thickness. To achieve the product's optimal properties, the film thickness should be between 220-300 µm dry film. The temperature should be between +7 and +30°C during application and drying. If the substrate temperature is higher than 40°C, application and adhesion will deteriorate. Pores or bubbles may appear in the paint film.

Note: When painting light colors up to S2000-N, 3 coats are recommended, with the first application applied thinly.

Remove as much of the existing surface layer as possible, such as paint. Rust is removed with a water blaster, scraper, steel brush, or similar. Wash the surface with Hagmans Painter's Cleaner for outdoor use or Hagmans Roof/Façade Maintenance Cleaner. If, during the preparation work, you have reached galvanized surfaces that have not been exposed to the weather, these should be treated with Hagmans Pickling Solution before applying AquaBarr MIR. If the surface to be treated is coated with PVC (plastisol) containing plasticizers, the surface layer must be removed.
