Utegrund Kombi

Hagmans Utegrund Kombi is a new type of primer that replaces the previous traditional system with primer oil and exterior primer. The product binds loose wood fibers and ensures good adhesion for the final coat. The special pigmentation protects the wood against harmful UV light and has a color that resembles new unexposed wood. Utegrund Kombi makes the surface water-repellent and strengthens and protects against natural aging, giving the entire paint system increased durability. The product contains film-preserving agents against algae and fungi.

Used before applying Hagmans Facade Paint Titan on all new and weathered wood. Stir well before use. Surfaces treated with linseed oil or stain must be cleaned down to untreated wood, as old linseed oil can cause blistering during later treatment with covering paint.

The substrate must be clean, firm, and dry: Sand sharp edges. Panels that have been untreated should be cleaned and loose wood fibers removed. Previously painted surfaces should be washed with products intended for washing before painting and then allowed to dry thoroughly. In the case of fungus and algae attacks, the surface should be treated with Hagmans Algae Wash. Loose paint and loose wood fibers must be scraped/steel-brushed away. Prime bare wood surfaces.

Outdoor Primer Kombi should be brushed on and worked well into the wood, avoid applying the product dry. Do not finish in the middle of the panel, but apply the product along the entire length of the panel boards. The primer should be spread out carefully.
New wood is treated before or immediately after installation with one coat of Outdoor Primer Kombi.
Spread the primer carefully. Bare end grain should be given 3-4 coats wet-on-wet. The panel should be finished with the desired product within 1 month. Paint at least two coats with, for example, Hagmans Facade Paint Titan.
