Wood Protection Silica is a newly developed advanced two-step treatment for qualified wood protection of all types of pressure-impregnated unprotected wood surfaces outdoors. A protection that, in addition to excellent preservation of the raw wood, also provides a very beautiful appearance. When used correctly, the result is a resistant and maintenance-free beautiful silver-gray surface for many years with superior protection against mold and fungi. The annual maintenance work that one has with, for example, wood oil, is reduced to normal cleaning. The beautiful silver-gray surface gradually develops over 1-3 months after the treatment has been carried out.

Wood protection Silica etches glass, which is why all surfaces that could possibly be exposed to splashes or similar must be covered before starting the work. Also protect your eyes and preferably wear protective gloves during the work. Even though Wood protection Silica is completely non-toxic, liquid paint residues should not be poured into the drain but left at the local recycling center.

Both new and old, previously untreated, wood can be treated. However, it should be completely dry, which is why new pressure-treated wood may need to dry for a few months first. For a velvety-smooth final result, one can also lightly sand the surface with fine sandpaper before treatment.

Wood protection Silicon – Washing:
Applied quickly and fluidly with a brush or roller. Allow the liquid to act on the surface for a few minutes. Then scrub the surface to remove any loosened dirt. Use a coarse brush or pressure washer with a scrubbing nozzle for balconies. Rinse the surface with clean water and let the surface dry well before the next step in the treatment.

Wood protection Silicon – Impregnation:
Apply liberally with a brush or roller in two coats with a minimum of two hours drying time in between. Allow the surface to dry for at least 4 hours after the second treatment, after which the surface is ready to walk on. After completed treatment, the surface has an uneven flamey appearance, which gradually under the influence of weather and wind in a chemical process develops into a beautiful and smooth surface with a light silvery colour. This process can be partially accelerated by brushing the surface with water.
The beautiful silver gray surface comes gradually under the influence of sunlight, and takes 1-3 months to develop. If you use the product indoors or on glazed surfaces, the color will not develop correctly. All possible residues of old wood oil must be completely removed before such surfaces can be treated. After the treatment with Träsklydd Sisel Impregnation, you have a finished surface with a beautiful appearance and a fantastic resistance to mold and fungus.

It is recommended to wash the patio every spring to get rid of dirt and leaf debris that has fallen during autumn and winter.
It is perfectly fine to maintain wash with Wood Protection Silicate – Wash. The product is based on silicate and will help to extend the lifespan of the decking.
