Application
  • Before painting

The surface must be clean, dry, and solid. Wire brush, scrape, or sand the surface and remove loose, porous, and deteriorated wood.

  • Painting

The oil is applied with a brush or cloth. Apply generously, and wipe off any excess that is not absorbed into the wood. To increase penetration, dilute with aliphatic naphtha or turpentine. Boiled linseed oil contains no mold protection, which is why it is usually diluted with 50% turpentine to obtain mold protection when used outdoors. Each coat must be completely dry before any additional coat is applied.

  • After painting

Wipe the tools thoroughly before cleaning in turpentine or aliphatic naphtha. Seal the container carefully after use and store out of reach of children.

Warning: Risk of spontaneous combustion in soaked cloths, sponges, etc. Eliminate this risk by placing cloths in water or burning them.
