Application
  • Instructions for use

White Linseed Soap: remember to shake the can before use so that all the pigment mixes well.

  • Pretreatment

Sweep the patio clean of leaves and other dirt.
If you have green patches on the decking, spray them with vinegar and let it sit for 1 day.
Wet the patio with a garden hose and let it stay wet for a while so that the water helps to loosen the dirt. Rinse the patio floor from dissolved dirt as well as vinegar.
Scrub the floor clean with a mixture of soap and lukewarm water. Use 1-2 dl of linseed oil soap to 10 liters of water. You can increase the concentration more if the decking is very dirty. Scrub until you notice that the foam no longer becomes dirty.
When the floor is clean, rinse it with a garden hose so all the dirt is removed.

If the dirt is really tough, you can clean the patio floor with Hagmans Patio Cleaner.

  • Application

Feel free to treat on a cloudy day or work in the shade so the sun doesn't burn the soap before you've applied it the way you want.
Be sure to wet the floor before treatment to avoid stains.

Mix 1-2 liters of soap to 8 liters of cold water in a bucket. Wet a scrub brush in the mixture and apply the soap using the scrub brush.
Let the floor absorb the soap. The first treatment is usually absorbed quite quickly, in a few hours. You can then repeat the treatment again the same day if you wish. Wet, apply, let dry. How many times you need to treat depends a lot on how dry your floor is. Feel the surface when the floor has dried. If there is a small excess that has not been absorbed, then you know that the wood has absorbed all it wanted. If it still feels dry, treat once more.
If after an hour or so there are still "puddles" on the floor that haven't gone in, you can wipe them off with a cloth.
    INSIDE
    Cleaning of floors

    1. Vacuum the floor.

    2. Add 1 dl of Hagmans Linseed Oil Soap to 10 liters of lukewarm water.

    3. Dry the floor with a well-wrung cloth or mop.

    4. Do not let the soapy water remain on the floor and dry, it can contribute to the yellowing of the floor. Wipe the floor with clean water and a wrung out cloth.

For heavily soiled surfaces, concentrated soap can be applied directly to a brush used to work the stain. Wet the stain with clean water first.

    Shed floor

    1. New floor is sanded with 120-grit paper.

    2. Vacuum the floor thoroughly before treatment

    3. Soak the floor with cold water before treating with the soap mixture.

    4. Add 5-8 dl of Hagmans Linseed Oil Soap to 10 L of cold water.

    5. Time to scrub the floor with a root brush! Treat a few boards at a time, sanding in the lengthwise direction of the wood.

    6. Remember to wipe up the soapy water after the first batch of boards, before continuing with the next part of the floor. Use a scouring cloth. Do not let the soapy water dry into the floor. There may be stains.

New floor: Repeat the treatment 4-5 times.
Old floor: Repeat the treatment 1-2 times/year.
