Always start by reading through the instructions on the can and remember to be careful from the beginning. Good tools and careful preparation are essential for a successful painting result. Stir the paint well from the bottom before you start painting. Air and surface temperature are also important for the final result. Do not paint if it is colder than +5°C. The surface must be clean, dry, and solid. Remove loose, porous, and deteriorated wood and loose wood fibers. Wash previously painted surfaces with Hagmans Painter's Wash Outdoor and rinse with water afterwards.
Use an appropriate brush for applying oil and glaze. Paint 2-3 boards at a time. Hagmans Exterior Glaze is normally applied in 2 layers. Apply several thin layers rather than a thick one. However, keep in mind that the color will become darker the more layers are applied. Be particularly careful to treat joints and end grain.
Wipe the tools thoroughly before cleaning them in water. Seal the can tightly after use and keep out of reach of children. Liquid paint residues should not be poured into the drain but taken to the local recycling center.
Use a brush, cloth, or sponge moistened with water and Hagmans Maintenance Wash to clean the surface. Rinse with a regular garden hose.
