Product description

2-component carbon fiber reinforced polyester filler intended for repairing rust holes on passenger cars and heavy vehicles. For professional use only.
Area of application

Substrate: Steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, polyester laminate, and most plastics. 2K Epoxy (maximum film thickness 15 μm).
When used on galvanized surfaces, use a hardener that is no more than 12 months old.

Drying time

Sandy after 15-20 minutes at 20°C. Sandy after 10 minutes with forced drying at 40°C. IR: 5 min. Use IR low intensity. The distance between the object and the IR lamp should be 50-70 cm. The object temperature must not exceed 70°C during drying.
Potlife

4-5 minutes at 20°C

With all non-water-dilutable primers

18 months
Storage

Store with a tightly closed lid. Best storage temperature +20°C (avoid large temperature variations)

Mixing ratio:
100 parts Filltec Carbon Fiber Soft Part A
2-3 parts Hardener
Pretreatment

Clean the surface before sanding.
Sand off any paint down to the metal surface with P180 – P240. Remove all rust down to bare metal. Bend the sheet metal around the hole to a 45° angle.
Before filling, clean and degrease the surface with a suitable degreasing agent (silicone remover).
Application

Apply the putty to the metal surface. Avoid thick putty edges around the damage; smooth the edges with the putty knife. Do not apply Filltec Carbon Fiber Soft on acid-containing Washprimer. For systems that must meet the highest quality requirements regarding corrosion protection, Filltec Carbon Fiber Soft should always be applied over 2K Epoxy primer (e.g., SprayMax 2K Epoxy primer).
After treatment

Sanding:
By hand: P120 – P180
With machine: P120 – P240.
Before spraying primer, filler or surfacer, clean and degrease the substrate with a suitable degreasing agent. Avoid direct contact of filled surfaces with water (e.g., water-based degreasers).
