Product description
Steelplastic Glass Fibre is a 2-component fiberglass reinforced polyester putty and has excellent adhesion and elasticity compared to similar products. -
Area of application
Appropriate uses include, among others, repairing rust-damaged car panels, strengthening profiles or beams, and certain repair work on boats, etc.
We want, in the strongest terms, to warn against using fiberglass putty to repair through-holes in fiberglass-reinforced boats, as the reinforcing effect in fiberglass putty is not sufficient for this purpose. Surface cracks in such boats are perfectly repaired, for example, with Stålplast Micro.
When used on galvanized surfaces, use a hardener that is no more than 12 months old.

Special properties
Glass Fibre has excellent adhesion and elasticity compared to similar products.
Application
-
Mixing ratio
Steel-plastic Glass Fibre comp. A is mixed thoroughly with 2-3% hardener comp. B (tube) on, for example, a glass or wooden board. Do not mix more than what will be used within 5 minutes.
-
Pretreatment
The filler should only be used on dry and well-cleaned surfaces. Oil and grease are removed with, for example, Hagmans Silicone Remover. Sand the repair surface so that rust and loose paint are removed. After sanding, the surface is degreased again.
-
Application
Steel-plastic Glass Fibre can be applied with a steel or rubber spatula. The best working temperature is +20°C. The working time is then about 5 minutes and the curing time about 15 minutes. Clean tools and mixing plate after use with ethyl acetate or thinner.
-
After treatment
When the putty has hardened, the surface is sanded with coarse sandpaper. If a smooth and fine surface is desired, it should be leveled (coated) with Stålplast Flexible, Fine or Micro.
