Application
  • Pretreatment

Turn off any underfloor heating before painting. New concrete surfaces must have cured for at least 1 week, be dry, and free from dirt, oil, and the like. The cement skin must be removed by, for example, diamond grinding, sandblasting, or acid washing. Use Hagmans Dammbindning 1K as a primer to increase adhesion and further strengthen the surface on outdoor concrete surfaces, e.g., on balconies or stairs. On untreated wood surfaces, the knots should be treated with Hagmans Spärrgrund and then the entire surface should be primed with wood/paint primer to reduce the risk of discoloration from wood resins (applies especially to wood surfaces that will be painted in white and light colors). When repainting existing paint, the surface should be lightly sanded, and all loose paint should be removed.

  • Application

With a brush or roller. Should be applied in two coats. When priming on absorbent surfaces, dilute the paint with 20% water. Ensure good ventilation. At humidity levels above 85%, a matte and streaky surface may occur. Brushes and other equipment are cleaned with water. Minimum surface temperature is +5°C. If a more matte surface is desired, the paint can be made matte with Hagmans Mattifying Paste. Gloss of the paint at different amounts of Mattifying Paste added.

Mattifying Paste is only used in the final coat.
The above gloss levels are approximate and are based on painting one coat according to our recommendations for 1K: 0.1 l/m2.

  • Painting

Sometimes certain rubber compounds in tires can cause plasticizer migration on waterborne paint or lacquer. On lighter colors, this can be perceived as yellowish marks.

  • After painting

Tool cleaning: Water. Remove as much paint as possible before cleaning. Storage: Cool and frost-free. Environment: Protect skin and eyes from splashes. Avoid inhalation of spray mist and sanding dust. Paint and cleaning liquids must not be released into drains, but collected and disposed of as environmental waste. Empty and dry packaging should be sorted as plastic, metal handles should be removed and sorted as metal.
