Product description

Stålplast Flexible is a 2-component polyester filler, whose filling material is composed so that the filler becomes very homogeneous yet flexible, easy to sand, and with very good adhesion. The filler can withstand baking without losing its strength and elasticity. Stålplast Flexible also has good adhesion to most types of plastic from semi-rigid to hard.
Area of application

Stålplast Flexible is used for repairing sheet metal damage on cars and caravans, for certain damage on boats, and for gluing and repairing iron, ceramic, stone, steel, wood, etc.

Application

Mixing ratio

Stålplast Flexible component A is mixed thoroughly with 2-3% hardener component B on, for example, a mixing block or plate, and mixed thoroughly until a homogeneous color is obtained. Do not mix more at a time than what will be used within 4-5 minutes. If the putty is exposed to high temperatures (+150°C), mix in about 1% hardener.
Pretreatment

The filler should only be used on dry and well-cleaned surfaces. Sand the repair area with sandpaper so that rust and loose paint are removed. Oil and grease are removed with thinner.
Application

Stålplast Flexible is applied with a steel or rubber spatula. The best working temperature is +20°C. The working time is then about 4 minutes and the curing time about 15 minutes. Clean the work tools and mixing plate after use with ethyl acetate or thinner.
After treatment

After about 15-20 minutes, Stålplast Flexible, if desired, is ready to sand. With armored file or sandpaper (80-grit or finer), the hardened plastic can be sanded to smoothness.
